Invasive Plants
Some species of plants that are classified as “invasive plants” in PA are very ornamental, and may be present in your yard or garden; you may have even bought some of these plants at a nursery! Invasive plants are known to have invaded natural areas, and to have displaced native plants in their habitats. As native plants provide crucial food sources, shelter, and breeding grounds for wildlife, their disappearance from the landscape has far-reaching effects.
As a service to our members, and to promote ecologically sound gardening practices, the Hort Club is providing the following information for its members, to guide them in choosing only non-invasive plants to bring to plant exchanges.
Please note:
The following list contains only the most ornamental invasive plants common in this part of PA.
